Joseph Vaile, Climate Director
Joseph Vaile joined KS Wild in 1999. Before taking over as Executive Director in 2014, Joseph was Program Director, stewarding KS Wild's conservation policy and advocacy programs. He has helped secure protection for threatened roadless areas, old-growth forests, and wild rivers. Joseph continues to oversee several of KS Wild’s campaigns for protection of the special places and wild rivers of the Klamath-Siskiyou region. In September 2019, Joseph revised his role and developed a new program as Climate Director.
Joseph's job is made easy by the incomparable beauty and diversity of nature in the region where KS Wild does its work. He loves camping, getting out in nature with his family, and running, rafting, and exploring the wildest corners of the Klamath-Siskiyou.
Joseph is a cum laude graduate of Edgewood College with a degree in biology and has completed graduate coursework at Southern Oregon University in conservation biology and geographical information systems. He previously worked at the Medford District Bureau of Land Management as a Wildlife Technician.
Joseph loves running into the amazing wildlife in the Klamath-Siskiyou. Learn more about our work to defend plants and wildlife here: https://www.kswild.org/safeguarding-wildlife
