Brandy MacDonald, Outreach Director
Brandy was raised in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes. She spent her youth fishing, ice-skating, communing with frogs and ducks, and exploring the expansive Northern waters via hikes and canoe. When she moved out West as a young adult her love for wild places expanded to include the new to her world of mountains, rivers, and ancient forests.
Brandy is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California and spent a decade working in Marketing and Public Relations in San Francisco, escaping to the wilder places when she found time. Brandy longed for a life more connected to people and nature. She moved to Southern Oregon in 2002, during the infamous Biscuit Fire. It was in the aftermath of that fire that Brandy first became involved with KS Wild. By volunteering and joining KS Wild-led hikes, Brandy fell in love with the fantastic Klamath-Siskiyou Bioregion and learned about the special protections this unique place needs. She is thrilled to now help new people connect with and protect this wonderful place we call home.
Brandy is passionate about connecting people to community, about protecting the environment for our children, and about the Klamath-Siskiyous. In her free time Brandy enjoys hiking, fishing, canoeing, camping with her friends and family, and telling stories.
