October First Friday: “Wilderness and Wanderings" by Shari O’Neal
Journey to Milford Sound by Shari O’Neal
Rocky Shore by Shari O’Neal
An Ashland resident, Shari enjoys creating watercolor/collage landscapes and acrylic abstractions. Her inspiration comes from nature, and she generally works from photographs she have taken in her travels. Shari loves working with various papers and experiencing the tactile feel as she builds her creations.
Color is important to Shari, and this comes through most in her abstracts. Rather than having a structured plan, she allows her spontaneity to flow. This flow often leads her to a surprise ending which is intriguing and satisfying. Recently, Shari has been experimenting with original printmaking using acrylics.
Shari’s current exhibition, "Wilderness and Wanderings," is her first solo show in over 15 years. Look for "Kobe and Friend," in memory of her beloved dog, Kobe, who passed away earlier this year.
May Shari’s creations take you to a place you've been, would like to visit, or to connect with nature and the sea.
